RedHawks signed Carrie Morris a pitcher/first baseman from Trenton, GA. Carrie played high school softball at Dade County High School in Georgia. She pitched for two seasons and started at first base for three seasons. Carrie was a member of the 2004 State Championship team. On the mound she has thrown up to 62 mph, and in her senior season she had a record of 8-2. In three seasons at the plate, Carrie had over 30 extra base hits, including 3 homeruns, 6 triples and over 50 RBI. Carrie is the daughter of Stephen and Sharon Morris.

The RedHawks softball team moved from #11 last week to being ranked #9 in the latest NAIA poll. This is MMC highest ranking in the programs history. The Martin Methodist College softball team is on top of Region XI for the 2nd week in a row. The #9 RedHawks are 26-5 overall and 14-1 in the TranSouth Athletic Conference. Four of the five losses this season have come from nationally ranked opponents.
