(3/3) – After a rocky start to the season the Martin Methodist College Baseball team bounced back this past weekend with a four game sweep of Saint Francis University.
 
On Friday, the RedHawks topped the Cougars in game one 4-1 and in the second game put the Cougars away 13-2 in five innings. Josh Spicer recorded the win in game one for Martin Methodist on the mound while Matt Fiser got the win in game two. In game one Hector Lora had two hits and four guys had a hit a piece including Drew Donnelly and Travis Garcia each with a homerun. The RedHawks pounded 17 hits in game two with Kyle Bowers going 3-for-3 with a homerun, three RBI and three runs scored, Holden Killen was 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored.
 
Saturday Martin Methodist won game one 7-4 and game two 6-4. Joey Vance picked up the win in the first game. Kris Ruderer was 2-for-3 with two doubles and Lora was 2-for-3 with a homerun, Darin Holt was 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Garcia was the winning pitcher for the final game of the series and Bowers went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and two stolen bases.
 
The RedHawks move to a 5-8 record this season and will travel to Huntsville, Alabama on Thursday to take on NCAA II University of Alabama-Huntsville. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00.
