Volleyball: RedHawks Battle in Last Home Game   printer

PULASKI, Tenn. (11/6) – After over a month on the road the Martin Methodist College Volleyball team was back on their home court last night for their last home game of the season. The RedHawks hosted Union University in a TranSouth Conference match for Senior Night as Lacy Neuenschwander was honored between games two and three.

The game was delayed a bit due to an interstate closure and the teams and fans waited patiently on the officials to get to the Curry Christian Life Center. Both team were fired up and ready to go for their last regular season match of the year. The games were intense and close throughout the five game match. Union had the upper hand in game one winning 25-20. As the crowd grew bigger in the CLC the RedHawks fed off their fan’s energy and took it to the Bulldogs 25-22 in game two. Game three had to go into extra points as the teams battled to a 29-27 final with Martin Methodist winning game three. Unfortunately the momentum going into the last two games favored the Bulldogs and Union took the next two 25-17 and 15-12 respectively and won the match 3-2.

The RedHawks had some big hitters in the match with Jhessica Martins leading the way with 22 kills. Ann-Kathrin Kuehhorn knocked down 15 while Precious Sanders and Kayla Spencer each had 14 kills. Martins also had 20 digs on the night.
