Volleyball: RedHawks Spilt TSAC Matches![]() PULASKI, Tenn. (9/18) – The Martin Methodist College Volleyball Team played two TranSouth Conference matches this week. The first on the road against Mid-Continent University on Tuesday and the second last night at home against Trevecca Nazarene University. The RedHawks took the Cougars 3-0 but fell to the Trojans 1-3.
The RedHawks were able to take it to the Mid-Continent Cougars on their home turf beating them in three straight games. 25-16, 25-17, 25-11 was the final game scores for that match. Jhessica Martins and Precious Sanders lead the RedHawks in kills. Martins had 17 kills while Sanders had 11 kills. Setter Caroline Santos had 31 assists in the match. Martins also had three aces and eight digs.
As Martin Methodist was at home for just their third home match of the season they hosted Trevecca Nazarene University. The RedHawk-Trojan battle is always a tough one and unfortunately the Trojans were able to win it this time. MMC won the first game of the match 25-21 but Trevecca would take the next three straight all by a score of 25-20. Martins once again lead the RedHawks this time knocking down 17 kills. Kayla Spencer had 10 kills and Sanders had eight kills in the match. Santos dished up 43 good sets. Spencer also had 15 digs while Heather Meshell had 13 digs.
Martin Methodist moves to 3-4 overall and are 1-3 in the TranSouth. The RedHawks won’t have a break as the travel to Lebanon, Tennessee today to play in the Cumberland University Classic. They will play matches today at 1:00 and 3:00 and will play tomorrow at 11:00 and 3:00.
