Bowling: Teams Compete in Raider Classic   printer

Beavercreek, Ohio (11/14-11/15) -- After a slow start to this year’s Men’s and Women’s Bowling seasons Martin Methodist starts to hit their best stride. The bowling team headed to Beavercreek, Ohio this past weekend for the Wright State Raider Classic at the Beaver-VU Bowling Center.

This was the first time ever that the men have taken two teams to compete. However it was the ladies again outshining the men with a 2nd place finish.

Leading the RedHawks for the women was Haley Beavis finishing 2nd in the singles portion of the tournament. "The girls have been lacking a little something, but this week things started to click" said Coach Wright. “I hope that this is a little pre curser for the rest of the season.”

The guys had a few problems making shots, but they sure did show some spark at times. "We are still trying to get five guys to play together. We have been traveling a lot of different guys and giving people a chance to step up. We just have not nailed that special group down yet" said Coach Titus. He followed with "We will get it. I feel like we are getting close." The guys made a late run but came up seven pins short of the head to head match play round. They finished well, and earned 5th place.

The B team made up of three first time travelers and two upper classmen finished 18th out of a 27 team field. Overall, it was a good weekend and the RedHawk Kegglers look forward to going to Louisville next weekend.
