RedHawk Women’s Bowling Places 5^th in the Bearcat Open

Cincinattini, Ohio (1/13-1/14) – The RedHawks finish 5^th out of 17 at the Bearcat Open.  Hayley Beavis led the team averaging 216.56 for 9 games and that was good for a 4^th place finish individually.  This was Hayley’s 4^th straight all tournament team appearance.  Cindy Buckner was second high on the team averaging 193.56 (19^th), followed by LeAudra Byrd 192.33 (22^nd).  Whitney Rains finished 46^th with a 179.11 average and Jessie Bain was 48^th at 176.44.

The RedHawks high team game was 1,040 in route to making the cut for the Baker style match play portion of the tournament.  They drew Shippensburg University in the opening round of match play with the winner moving on.  Shippensburg came out strong sweeping the first to games from the RedHawks.  They rebounded strong and with clutch doubles in the 10^th of games 3 and 4 by Beavis the match was even after 4.  In the 5^th and final game the RedHawks had a few costly opens while Shippensburg put together 4 strikes in frames 5-8 propelling them to a 5^th game victory.

The RedHawks Women’s Bowling team will be back in action January 20^th in the Eagle Classic at Collin’s Bowl in Lexington, KY.
