Pulaski, Tenn (1/4) - All of the RedHawk Cheerleaders spent the morning enjoying a fun and festive Christmas Party with the Growing Tree Nursery School four-year old students. The students had refreshments, played games, and received candy canes and a hug from their favorite mascot, Rowdy! (12/11) - This year, under the leadership of First United Methodist Church in Pulaski, 667 children received Christmas gifts at the 2010 Giles County Santa Train, according to Wayne Davis, Senior Pastor of FUMC. The Giles County Santa Train arrived in Pulaski on Saturday morning decked out with decorations, Santa and Mrs. Claus, and 667 Angel Tree presents, which included the RedHawk Bikes. PULASKI, Tenn. (11/5) - Fun and funds were the result of Martin Methodist College’s first-ever Home Run Derby, held Friday, Nov. 5th, at Magazine Road Park in Pulaski. The event began as a community service initiative by Tina McGill’s First Year Experience class to fulfill a long discussed plan for a Home Run Derby fundraiser in Pulaski. The goal of the project was for students to apply learning techniques in class to “real-world” situations by planning and executing a major fundraising initiative.

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. (11/7) – Martin Methodist men’s basketball have begun their 2010-11 season with a big statement, working to a 6-0 start. Over the weekend at the Brewton-Parker Classic, the RedHawks downed host school Brewton-Parker College, 85-66, and then upset No. 7 Southern Polytechnic State University by a 75-66 score.

(11/7) – After a commanding win during their home opener Thursday, MMC women’s basketball immediately took their 2-0 record on the road and battled through two difficult contests at University of Mobile. The RedHawks faced host school Mobile on Friday night and fell, 76-84 , then facing Spring Hill in a heartbreaking 94-95 loss at the buzzer on Saturday.

PULASKI, Tenn. (11/5) – The MMC women’s golf team played their best fall tournament while playing host to three other school in the four-team field at the RedHawk Classic in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. With Bethel University and Cumberland University the top finishers, MMC came in third place in front of Lambuth University. Teri-Beth Thompson (Sophomore/Waynesboro, Tenn.) earned a 10th place spot with a 175 on across the two days, 88 on day one and shooting an 87 on the second day.

The tournament was a five-team field that included all TranSouth institutions, with MMC finishing fourth behind top team Union University, Cumberland University, and Trevecca-Nazarene. PULASKI, Tenn. (11/4) – As the MMC women’s basketball improved to 2-0 in their young season, they downed Tennessee Temple University, 99-66, in their home opener in the Christian Life Center. Micah Anderson (Junior/Hohenwald, Tenn.) was the high scorer with 21 total points in a game that featured four RedHawks in double-digits, while Jessy Christopher (Sophomore/Lebanon, Tenn.) paced the offense with nine total assists in the first half alone.

The first tournament of the Martin Methodist College RedHawks bowling season brought out promising and encouraging results, as the A-Team on the men’s side showed their ability to score with some of the best teams in the nation. The RedHawk women did not find as much success, however, they will surely progress throughout the season.
